Busy Monday

We had a busy Monday today, mostly because we decided to start going to the gym early before swim practice so we can get some cardio work in together! It only leaves an hour or so after classes to relax before we head out. Class went well this morning with language arts, then we started reading from the Story of the World book we received this weekend. Ancient Times! Going slow and exploring all the activities is going to be fun. The first section is a basic introduction to history and archaeology, and we’re working on a family history book as craft project. We will definitely be posting pictures when we’re done. At around 3:30pm, we got ready and headed to the gym. Hannah came in the workout room with me, and we spent 40 minutes on treadmills before heading over to the practice pool for swim team practice!  This schedule is probably going to stay this way on weekdays, minus having practice after our workouts on Friday. It’s good for both of us, me for my weight loss journey and Hannah for help with endurance for swimming. She has so much fun swimming, I’m glad she found something she’s interested in. We posed a lot of possibilities for her for extracurriculars, including karate, girl scouts, ballet/dance, and gymnastics. Swimming was the only thing she showed any interest in, so here we are!  She’s very competitive and swim team has just the right amount of individualism and team play that she can thrive in. Things are going well at the start of our third week of homeschool. Hopefully Hannah will enjoy the Story of the World series for history. It looks interesting, to say the least, perhaps a bit biased towards Christianity in some areas, but hopefully we’ll be able to read it as more as how I’m sure it’s meant – stories – rather than the “gospel”...
